Introduction / Goals

KSystemLog is a young project, which began the 2st March, 2005, exactly. Its development was stopped during nearly 2 years, mainly due to a lack of time. It has restarted during the summer of 2007, and was totally rewritten, to be able to support new features and with the main goal to be more stable and faster.

It is now KDE 4 compatible, very stable (could be started during several days without any problems), and covered by a test suite.

KSystemLog aims to be as simple as possible, by displaying all existing system logs.

This application was developed mainly because advanced users are bored to ask their friends at phone to :

	[new@bie:/home] konsole #Launch a console,
[new@bie:/home] su - #Log in root (what is "route?"),
[new@bie:/home] tail -f /var/log/messages #Get the 10 last lines of the messages file

And finally discover they wrote this in their console :

	[new@bie:/home] sutailindentfslashvareslashlogueslash message
sutailindentfslashvareslashlogueslash: Command not found

;-)

I really hope KSystemLog will help you in your all-the-day needs.
